Estimate Easy Use CaseTM (EEUCTM) is a new and innovative estimation tool that allows teams developing use cases to estimate the software development effort early in the lifecycle by calculating use case points.
Use cases are a popular method for developing software requirements. Many companies are using use cases as the de-facto standard for developing requirements. Until now, there hasn't been an easy way to estimate the effort needed early in the lifecycle - EEUCTM does just that. EEUCTM uses Karner's Method to calculate use case points.
EEUCTM provides two versions - Professional and Enterprise. The professional version provides almost all of the capabilities of the enterprise version but allows only one what-if scenario and does not contain the import feature. Both versions support Use Case Points and
COCOMO II level 1 method of estimation. The enterprise version contains all of the capabilities described below.
 Use case points and COCOMO II methods require the use of estimation factors that are unique to each organization and project. EEUCTM is the only tool that
allows you to add, delete and update these factors and customize the tool to meet the needs
of your project. Additionally, EEUC can optionally re-calibrate constants used by Use Case Point method should you decide to delete a factor or alter its weight.
 Another strength of EEUCTM is its ability to import existing use case information
from Rational Rose®, Rational RequisitePro®, Visio® and XMI files. This capability virtually eliminates the need to re-enter use case information into EEUCTM. EEUCTM also allows you to
create new use cases and actors. EEUCTM is the only tool available that offers this type of
flexibility.
Another unique feature of EEUCTM is the ability to create what-if scenarios. Using this feature, the user can modify use cases, actors, technical and environmental factors to compare and contrast many configurations of project data. As requirements change, and the team's knowledge grows, EEUCTM will allow the user to modify the project data to generate a new software estimate.
